Maiden Erlegh: Awaiting Consultation Result

The Park Ward parents’ campaign against Wokingham Borough Council’s proposed changes to secondary school admissions has been amazing.  They have dedicated a huge amount of time and energy into researching and mounting their well-reasoned objections, for which there has been cross-party support.

Having submitted my objection I share everybody’s impatience to learn WBC’s decision.  In short I objected to the proposed tie-breaker as it would make it impossible for parents to assess the likelihood of being offered a place and therefore asked for the status quo to remain.

WBC’s School Admissions Forum is meeting on 15th March.  The papers can be read here: Report to WBC’s School Admissions Forum

I will post an update as soon as I hear the result which I anticipate will be after WBC’s Executive Board meeting on 31st March 2011.
